Things I'm Giving Up For Lent, with Exceptions

This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, when traditionally I select a few things I really like and give them up for 6 weeks. This year, I am giving up alcohol, appetizers and desserts. I know.....impressive. It's a matter of weight, if you must know. Hovering around 130 pounds is boring and annoying. Nothing fits well. I have that "stuffed sausage" feeling every day and it stinks. I figure I can lose a pound a week by simply giving up these three food groups. (Check the chart...these are food groups to me!)

Disclaimer: As I am leaving in about six days to help my sister in Maryland with her WORTH show, there will be 6 days when I will probably have wine and appetizers. It's just so much fun with my sister and I only see her four times a year. So, actually one week of the six period does not count. And, I have set up an appointment this Wednesday with a client who said," let's get a beer while we are reviewing the research", and I said, "okay, sounds good". I am so easily swayed.....which is why I hover at 130 pounds.

I think the man upstairs understands me. I am one of his weak followers. He loves me even when I cheat a little on the whole giving up something for Lent routine. He knows just how big a sacrifice I am actually making, even when you consider my disclaimers!
