What Have You Done to Your Child's Room?

Oh, I see what this is! At first I was thinking,"Sure! I've painted and redone my child's room." Then I read down further and noticed the option about changing it into a den. You're getting ideas about your daughter's room! Did you hear that my mom turned my room into a staging area for all her clothes and jewelry? It's true!

A staging area for your Mom's clothes?! How did you feel about that? Was this decision damaging to you? If not, then maybe it sounds like a cool idea!

I asked our son if he minded if we turned his room into a guest bedroom. He said, 'But mom, I still live here!' I think high school seniors are so busy to help us get used to them being away next year!

I've done NOTHING to Rhett's room; it's a disaster. It took me five years to clean out my older son's room. It's now freshly paint, has new carpet, and is totally empty.

Five years it took me ... amazing.

Our kids are now married and in other states, so it's a bit beyond going away to college. As each one flew the proverbial coop, though, we first gained a guest room, then an office, and finally, as the last one left, we got a library/reading room/second office for Rose. Now, however, it has devolved into a computer/band equipment storage/DVD collection room. We've thought about downsizing, but we 'need' the space!

I talked to my little girl about this the day she went to college and she told me, dont make it seem like i'm totally out of your life mom. I will be back christmas and the whole summer, i will obviously need to stay somewhere and i wouldnt want it to be anywhere but in my own rooom. So, i cleaned it but I love going in there. It reminds me of all the special moments we sharedd in her room.
